San Diego Hot! Hot! Hot!

Countdown to Comic-Con... arrived in San Diego and the city sights and palm trees beckon from outside my hotel window. This hotel has some very cool eagle stonework on the building. The weather outside is hot, but then again so was Ottawa when we left. Trying to shake the traveller's fatigue and go exploring.

Tomorrow I hang my artwork in the art show and the con begins with preview night!

Votes Needed for MAGIC AND MAYHEM and EVOLUTIONARIES at Zeros2Heroes.com

AGNES CULPEPPER = MAGIC AND MAYHEM, VOTE ROUND 1 BY DECEMBER 19

Vote for Janet Hetherington's comic pitches on at Zeros 2 Heroes!

Zeros 2 Heroes is offering one final comic creation campaign for 2008 -- Direct-to-Development II.

Direct-to-Development is the Zeros 2 Heroes initiative that gives comic book creators like Janet Hetherington the opportunity to have their original comics project published.

The process is underway and the competition is open to anyone. Janet Hetherington has two pitches on the site -- the bewitching supernatural comedy MAGIC & MAYHEM (formerly AGNES CULPEPPER) and the straight-ahead sueprhero adventure EVOLUTIONARIES
(co-created with RONN sUTTON). The complete script for these comics can be read at Zeros 2 Heroes.

Z2H members are able to collect and vote for my stories until December 19, 2008. Your votes will determine a short-list of six comic pitches which will then be reviewed by our advisory committee of industry experts.

The first set of three finalists will be announced on the December 12, 2008. The second set of three finalists will be announced on the December 19, 2008. Chosen from these six stories, the winning pitch will be announced on January 15, 2009.

If my story is selected...

The Zeroes 2 Heroes deal works this way: I provide the storytelling and Z2H will...

- Foot the bill to produce a professionally edited and illustrated 22-page comic.
- Market to gain publicity for the new property.
- Exploit industry connections to take the finished work as far as it can go.

You must register (or be registered) on http://www.zeros2heroes.com/ to vote. Please read and follow the rules.

To read and support MAGIC & MAYHEM, click here: http://www.zeros2heroes.com/pitch/289

To read and support EVOLUTIONARIES, click here: http://www.zeros2heroes.com/pitch/467
As always, your interest in my work and engagement is appreciated!
